Chicago Wildlife Watch Talk
Two adorable fawns and mom.
Sunlit fawn
#Raccoon party
2 Coyotes in the "my god there's never anything there" spot! 😄
Pretty! Man, never get cool ducks in my neck of the woods. Just mallards.

#actionsquirrel
Curious deer.
Critter in the upper right or just deceptive fallen wood?
Chilling.
Whatever that is behind the log has surprisingly tiny feet for its body size.
Bird or rodent on a stick?
I was thinking they looked like galaxies.
Doesn't look like enough ear for rabbit.
Woodchuck or bobtail raccoon?
This deer has had enough of your picture taking.
Scent-marking the scent bag. Heh.
Nice possum shot.
Anyone ever watch the stupid ghost hunting shows? "It's an orb!" (aka "lens flare we're pretending is a ghost")
That's someone's dog.
Cat looks like she's stalking something, but I don't see anything else in the pic.
Ha, this one looks like it was taken in the office!
In the upper left? That's a raccoon.
The nearest one looks like he might still be in velvet so not quite to head bashing time yet
Very fluffy coyote
tiny mouse eye-shine?
Leucistic raccoon missing a tail?
Spider-Deer, Spider-Deer
(yeah, I know there's two)
Super cute daytime rabbit.
Dog portrait.
Whatsits. I went with raccoon based on there being 2 and size, but legs look long, odd color, and no tails.
Could be, although scared deer usually are heads &tails up and high-tailing it out of there. Might just be making stink-face at another deer
daytime opossum
Daytime #coyote
Mallard in the upper left.
Yeah, when the DB reads the human tag, all you get is this sign instead of the picture.
I thought legs looked too short to be a deer, but I think you all are right.
Squirrel having a dust bath or just caught mid-motion?
Robin.
Is it just me, or does that deer have a giant growth on her near hind leg? It looks like soccer ball big.
Looks like a researcher making friends with someone's dog. 😄
King of the log!
Spotted the coyote in the background after I had clicked "nothing".
Longcat is long.
Robin. Preening?
Mourning doves.
#actionsquirrel duet
Another really nice buck.
If only this #coyote wasn't over exposed!
3 starlings.
Based on the bare tail, opossum.
Huh, apparently someone thought it was a person.
We've got one in our woods that does triangular sticky seeds in the fall. Glad the dog is short-coated.
Yay I found a #woodchuck. About to chuck wood?
Now there's a wall-worthy rack. #deer
Looks like starlings.
Chupacabra. Or opossum?
Pretty snow.
Young raccoon or just awkwardly positioned?
Laser #raccoon at the ready.
Hope this tiny bunny isn't raiding someone's garden!
It's awfully low and in the grass for the moon, especially since the camera appears to be pointing downwards.
I want to start tagging these #waltwhitman because leaves of grass. 😄? 😄?
"Dude, you're not waiting in the bushes with a chainsaw are you, dude?" #horrormoviedeer
Did someone somehow light-paint a D: face in the tree leaves?
2 Grackles.
"Dude. What was that?" #horrormoviedeer
Business end! #skunk
Nah, they're too unevenly spaced and at different levels. House lights in the distance.
I'd go with urban chicken myself.
Probably has mange.
Amtrak!
Science by J. J. Abrams #lensflare
Cardinal.
Raccoon tussle!
I do believe that's an #actionsquirrel to the left of the tree.
Ew, someone didn't pick up after their dog. I hate it when people do that.
Two deer playing hide 'n' seek badly.
Piebald deer?
#chilin'
Robin (?) on the log.
Molting or something else going on with his coat?
That's a cat, right?
Looks like something tried to run off with the lure.
Looks like a whole bunch of kids poking at the camera.
Well, that cat's lasers are fully charged.
Raccoons trying to walk off with the lure.
Young coyote?
Aw, tiny possum.
Maybe some mouse eyeshine to the upper right.
Possum? Didn't look fuzzy enough to be a raccoon.
Male mallard in the cattails (?) between the two tree trunks.
#actionrat
Either the tree is huge or the #deer is tiny
Aw, a wee spotty baby!
#coyote sniffing
A new view on the fence, I see.
Woodchuck?
Curious to see if you ever got an answer on this one. I'm stumped.
Mystery fuzzy, lower left.
Getting in some good sniffs.
Great deer pic
One spooky coyote.
mysterious eyes to the upper left.
Nice doe pic
Tiny eye-shine over at the base of the tree.
Woohoo! Actually spotted something at this site!
What a fluffy tail!
#actionsquirrel with nut
Startled #deer
Love it!
Squirrel staring match.
Very nice buck!
What a handsome daylight skunk!
Looks like a coyote starting to roll in something to me. Looks exactly like my dog when she find something pungent.
Black smudge to the left might be something?
Doe! A deer! A female deer!
AAAAH. Now that you've said that, I can see the tail.
Neat!
Shaggy something.
Oh man, I wish this was in better focus.
Muskrat? Feral guinea pig?
Mysterious eyeshine.
Ticked rat based on the tail. #blurrodent
Heeeeeeeeeeey, ladies.
Levitating armadillo! No, probably not.
I'd guess cat based on how it's moving.
Mouse eye shine in the foreground?
Head banging #actionsquirrel?
A very purple pigeon.
Dog? Albino coyote?
Cat? Owl? Cat-owl?
I went for cat based on size.
#actionrabbit
Nice buck.
I find it's hard sometimes to get scale on these photos unless you've seen a squirrel against a tree enough to recognize that tree.
Junco?
What a cute buck!
#stealthraccoon
Nice horror movie eye shine there, mouse.
Deer neck. Or Sasquatch arm.
Teeny tiny eye shine in the back.
Deer is totally a guess. Didn't look shaggy enough to be a coyote though.
EXTREME CLOSE UP!
I'm guessing squirrel based on grey fur? Maybe deer?
It is, of course, an #actionsquirrel.
I think this is the first time a still picture has made me motion sick.
I said coyote, but I debated really hard on fox too. Couldn't get a good sense of scale here.
If this were a ghost hunting program, I'd declare the pink blur to be an orb and definitely a ghost.
Washing or headbanging? \m/
That'd be an awfully big dog, wouldn't it?
I wasn't sure if this was a cat or a possum, mostly because I couldn't decide if I could see any muzzle or not.
Robin in the foreground, whole bunch of geese in the background.
I thought maybe a small owl to the lower right? But it's a total guess.
Miscounted raccoons. there's actually 2 of them.
This squirrel seems awfully dark but I couldn't be sure it was melanistic.
Raccoon or very tiny bear. 😉
Nice buck!
Oops, hit finish before I noticed the other robin on the left so the count should be 2 birds.
Very nice deer!
Doing a bit of grooming?
Bunch of geese in the river.
This is a very arty photo. You could totally put this on tumblr with a quote on it. 😉
This is the first black squirrel I've spotted!
I suspect this is actually a ball or something.
Best guess on fuzzy rump was raccoon but I could be totally wrong.
That's pretty great!
Every time I see a photo from this site I just want to yell at someone to go pick up all of the bottles. 😦
Mower or kid's toy?
Canid of some sort. Mangy coyote or fox? Or someone's stray, I guess.
Thought a bird in the lower left corner but might just be trash.
I said dog, but I swear it looks like a llama.
I'm assuming the leash ends in a dog behind the tree.
I'm just guessing mouse based on the size. Really all you can see is eye-shine.
Ah, the illusive baseball. Rarely seen gathering in these quantities!
This one should probably be pulled because it looks like the camera got turned around into the tree
There's an unidentifiable blurb to the left of center. can't say what it is though.
Nice robin in the foreground there.
