Chicago Wildlife Watch Talk
or dog?
? ID. Animal leaving could be something else?
No idea what this is...
questionable. Is there something to the right of the tree at level of the lure?
maybe, something on left
ID highly questionable
ID questionable; rabbit? possum? other?
questionable ID; something on left of tree in scrub??
questional ID, something behind fence, center right?
very questionable ID
something front and center? moving?
Duck: Mallard vs. Black
rear-end of something visible lower right.
No clear ID. Possible "body" upper left at edge.
however....looks foxy... ?
something at right base of tree? if so, I've no idea what...
partial ear on right? could also be a coat flap.
there also may be another very small creature just in front of the squirrel. Two luminous "eyes" surrounded by darker shape
tentative ID
human footprints in several of these pictures look fresh
Dog vs. Coyote?
ID not clear; upper rear end only is visible
tentative ID, also another animal but what species unclear
robin
Mallard
very unsure of this ID
Is there, by chance, a turtle near left edge, high middle ground? or is that an optical illusion?
Nothing I can ID. Probably animal on right edge, middle ground
probable canine. ID unclear
small degree of uncertainty here. No gauge of size here, and somewhat unusual pose for a squirrel.
what happened to the image? this isn't what I commented on.
No idea what this is on right
? human arm? or leg? or tree trunk?
Northern Flicker 1, American Robin 2
ID unclear...
Maybe a possum, or a out of focus bottle? unclear to me...
nothing I can see, but is that a shadow or part of an animal the right?
fresh looking human footprints across screen
some animal; not clearly a raccoon. Other ideas?
is that a mouse to the left of the tree, and above the horizontal root?
mourning dove
is that a human shoe on the bottom left? Otherwise nothing...
something in center foreground; could be anything
Perhaps the wings/tail of a rock dove?
starlings, about 20
actually, no human visible, but backpack is in middle of picture so I assume a human triggered it.
an "eye" at the right edge of pic, above midline, but I can't make an animal out around it...
not sure about this; not even sure which end I'm looking at...
possible duck on the lake. too far away to tell.
something at center bottom edge?
#American robin
or maybe a dog? right hind leg at right edge of pic. I don't really see a hoof. Maybe a canine...
is that a "have a heart trap" between the two beds?
No idea, but had to put something. Any ideas?
waterfowl
"eye" spots among the leaf litter in foreground. Am I missing anything?
third squirrel ID'd is too fuzzy to ID definitively.
#American Robin
is there something else at the upper edge? two bright "eye" dots in dark edge near snowy area.
nothing except a car? but picture is upside down.
there may be some birds in the far tree, but I can't tell for sure.
L. Hind leg and tail of a white dog on the right?
Help....Not comfortable with "skunk."
are you sure that bird is not a grackle?
there's a third. left edge, near the top, a tail is visible.
Appears to be young Robin at the edge of the tree root. However, also looks like something else there? Or maybe the "robin" is illusion?
Is there a head or a tail at the right edge just slightly above the corner?
the more visible animal appears to have some growths? bullae or swellings on the neck and side. What are these likely to be?
American Robin
American robin
thanks; yeah, guess I can see that now....
sitting animal center left side of frame. questionable ID ??
I'm far from convinced of this ID.... Other thoughts?
Northern Cardinal
are those piles of scat to the right front of the tree?
"looks" young, but I'm not sure why...
rock dove
'bird' is questionable. something partially visible, upper left of frame.
unsure re: squirrel at base of tree on right? or maybe it is a piece of wood?
nothing I can ID, but.....is there a critter (rabbit?) at the base of a slender tree trunk near the center left edge of picture?
unsure about squirrel #2 (behind fence). may not be an animal... ? #1 at edge of frame, center left edge.
I ID'd it as a possum, but the head looks wrong: eye and ears not positioned right and no pointy snout. Is this a muskrat instead?
Canada geese, about 25, heads in all positions
probably human clothing anyway....
is there a critter at the base of the farthest tree, on the left? or maybe it's part of the trunk?
roundish mass at base of trunk on right. is this an animal?
robin, center left far lawn
looks like a toad in rt. foreground? though probably the end of a stick.
lower left: is this something's butt? ear? elbow? I'm not clear on whether we should be tagging things like this or not.
very tentative ID. I put 'raccoon,' but it could be something else....
unsure, is there a squirrel or other animal center top, sitting on a broken branch?
something moving on the left?
mallard
isn't this picture upside down?
Am I imagining this?? A beaver with a branch in it's mouth? center left.
oh, thank you! I'd never seen them with skinny tails, but it has the prominent rump of a raccoon, so I'd wondered...
the rear end of a pigeon maybe
I don't actually think this is a cat. mink? raccoon with a messed up tail? Curious as to what others think.
one mallard; one robin
canine carrying prey. IDs tentative
young robin
is it reasonable to call all vehicles "mowers?" No other choice...
