Critter cam gone

  I notice that the critter cam at Montrose Point has disappeared. Does this mean the data collection part of the project is over, or has the camera been moved elsewhere?

  All of the photos do not go up at the same time on Chicago Wildlife Watch. Instead, a subset is put up for people to enter. Once those are close to getting completed other photos are put on. So that means that the photos from that location have been classified by the users. We still use that site though, so expect some photos in the future from that spot!

  We tend to remove photos if and only if the camera is flagrantly malfunctioning (unless there happens to be a very charismatic leaf in the frame).

  Actually, I am talking about the physical camera, not the images it captured.

  Oh. ha. It'll go back up in a couple months. They are only up for ~28 days a season.
