Many of the images do not have animals in them, which makes me wonder - How were these images collected?

Motion-sensitive cameras were used, and fast moving animals along with plants or trash moving in a breeze can mean no visible animals in an image. Look carefully though, for we've seen some well-hidden critters where we might have concluded there were none.
